Recreation Swim Fees
Valley-Wide Recreation’s Aquatic Center is a heated 25-yard out-door pool with a water slide, zero depth entry with water fountain sprayers and activity toys for small children. Come out and enjoy the fun.
The Aquatic Center will be open on “Weekends Only” beginning, Saturday, May 1, 2010 for open swim. Beginning Monday, June 14th the pool will be open seven days per week.
WATER SLIDE RULES/POOL RULES
- All riders MUST be at least 48 inches tall to ride the water slide.
- Swimsuits with plastic or metal rivets are not permitted on the water slide
- NO sun glasses, hats, goggles or T-shirts on the slide
- Only ONE person on the slide is permitted at a time
- You MUST go feet first down the slide
- NO roughhousing or horseplay is permitted on the stairs at any time
- NO Floatation Devices (life vests, water wings or noodles)
- NO Outside Food or Drinks
- NO Smoking
- NO Gum
- You MUST have a Swim Suit to swim in the pool
- Children under the age of 3 MUST wear approved swim diapers
- Any person violating facility rules or acting in an unsafe manner will be removed from the facility and will forfeit all fees for the day.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSON
By advance reservation: These lessons will take place on Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings ONLY. Lessons are 35 minutes, one on one lesson with child/instructor.

Prices: $30.00 per 35 minutes lesson
How to choose the correct level of swimming class for your child.
- Review the skill listed for each class.
- Can your child complete all the skills listed? If so, advance to the next level. If not, enroll in that class.
- If your child is afraid of the water, consider the Tot class or Level I.
- Consider Level I/II if your child has not had swim lessons and needs to learn the basics.
- If your child doses not work well in a group, try private lessons.
Parent/Tot I: Children age 3 months to 18 months with a trained instructor. Adults will be taught to help child learn water adjustment, supported floats, kicks, and assisted entries through instruction and games.
Parent/Tot II: Children 18 months to 4 years with a trained instructor. Designed as a water orientation for both tots & parents. Instructor will teach basic skills kicks on front and back prone (front) and back float assisted, arm stroke on front (dog paddling or splashing), tot and parent safety skills.
Level I: This introductory class will help teach your child to feel comfortable in the water, learn flutter kick, bubbles, front/back floats, arm stroke on front (dog paddle) & back (winging), jumps in assisted, jumping in and recovering on own, bobbing & safety skills.
Level II: Students need to feel comfortable in the water. In this class, students advance to back floats, prone kick glide, jumps in assisted, increased underwater exploration, enhanced arm and kick movements both on front and back deep water orientation, head underwater 2-4 seconds
Level III: Students must be able to swim 15 yards in deep water. Skill taught include: Refinement of the crawl stroke with the start of rhythmic breathing, elementary backstroke, jump into deep water and swim, start to learn to tread water, deep-water dives for object retrieval.
Level IV: Students must be able to swim 25 yards. Stroke development front and back crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, dives, introduction to wall turns & safety skills.
Level V: Students work on stroke refinement with the addition of the sidestroke, butterfly, flip turns, treading water, diving, and safety skills.
Jr. LIFEGUARD: This program builds a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for the future lifeguards, including prevention, fitness, response, leadership, and professionalism. Participants learn responsibilities of a lifeguard. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards continuously and tread water for one minute. Junior Lifeguards will be able to volunteer at the pool throughout the summer. They MUST pass a skills test on the last day of the class to volunteer at the pool.
LITTLE SWIMMERS
Can’t swim in the activity pool because of the big kids? Well, it’s time to take it back! Parents with children 8 years & younger come to the Aquatic Center before it opens for swimming. No big kids Allowed!

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE AQUATIC CENTER
Our Dive in Movie Theater will be open for fun this summer 2009. Bring your favorite raft and the entire family. Enjoy some of your favorite movies under the stars.
